When I founded Curious Readers LLC, I had one mission at the center of everything: to create books that every child could open and see themselves in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The world our children are growing up in is beautifully diverse different backgrounds, different languages, and different traditions, all woven together into the fabric of modern life. The books they read should reflect that reality. When a child sees a character who looks like them, speaks like them, or shares their background, something powerful happens they understand that their story matters. That they belong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Curious Readers logo itself captures this vision: four children reading together. One Black, one white, one Asian, and one Hispanic. All of them share the same book, the same wonder, the same joy of discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mystery of Hidden Oak Valley<\/em> was written to be that kind of book one that welcomes every child into the story, regardless of where they come from. The valley itself is a community where every creature has a role, every tree has a purpose, and every voice is heard. Hickory doesn’t succeed on his adventure alone. He succeeds because of his community Mrs. Mouse, Mr. Rabbit, Mr. Owl, and Mr. Farmer, each bringing something different and irreplaceable to the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That’s the world I want children to imagine as possible. That’s the world I believe they are capable of building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At Curious Readers, we are committed to publishing books that open doors, spark conversations, and remind every child no matter their background that the world is full of mystery and wonder, and that they are exactly the right person to explore it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Diverse stories.
